Neighborhood

Ya-Po-Ah Terrace sits at the base of historic Skinner’s Butte and urban forest. Numerous cedar, fir and pine trees flank the north and west sides of our structure. The many deciduous trees in the Historic District offer beautiful autumn color. Numerous birds, squirrels and an occasional deer or turkey are seen on our 3.5 acres. A beautiful bald eagle pair has made their home on the Northwest side of the butte. To the west of our property the City of Eugene maintains a hill climb entrance that connects to the butte trails. To the north of our property, many joggers and bicyclists can be seen moving up the Skinner’s Butte Road. The Willamette River bike path can also be accessed via High Street which is one block east of our Pearl Street location.

Ya-Po-Ah Terrace located on Pearl Street, between 3rd and Shelton McMurphy Blvd (4th), has close proximity to many eateries: Cornucopia, Steel Head Brewery, the Tap and Growler, Sushi Station, Oregon Electric Station. Other numerous eateries and boutique shopping are within four blocks. The 5th Street Public Market also hosts many dining and shopping opportunities. On 5th Street, across from the Steel Head Brewery, is the Dave Minor Movie Theater and Pub which features 2nd run movies in a new and unique viewing style – have dinner and a drink while you watch an HD movie on the big screen. For our avid gardeners, Down To Earth Home and Garden is a short distance away on 5th and Olive.

The city bus system, Lane Transit District, (LTD) has a bus stop adjacent to our front driveway entrance; transporting residents throughout the Eugene-Springfield area. Campbell Senior Center is on block east and two blocks north. They are located next to the bike path, which runs along the river and have a varied and exciting calendar each month. They also have a scholarship program for anyone who needs assistance with payment for classes and trips.
